What Is BECOME?
BECOME is a 6-week beginner training journey at Newcastle Aikido designed for people who want to rebuild physical strength, mental clarity, and calmness under pressure.
This is not a fitness challenge.
It’s structured, traditional martial arts training — made accessible for beginners, led by experienced instructors who care.
You’ll train under the guidance of Sensei Darius Wingate-Pearse – 5th Dan Aikikai, internationally renowned instructor with over 35 years’ experience.
What You’ll Experience
· 3+ training sessions per week
· 5 pillars of practice: body arts, weapons, Iaido (sword work), Zazen meditation, and Misogi breathwork
· Personal goal setting and accountability check-ins (weeks 1, 3 & 6)
· Finish with your first grading and a community dinner with the dojo
You’ll build strength, focus, and balance — and walk away with calm that carries into every part of your life.
