20 Years of Practice
Saku Shin Kan · 2006 – 2026
Twenty years on the mat
Saku Shin Kan opened its doors in Hamilton on 7 November 2006. Twenty years later the mat is still down, the classes still run, and people still turn up to train.
That's not down to the building. It's down to everyone who has stepped onto the mat: the first students, the ones who trained for a season, the ones who are still here, and every teacher who has stood at the front of the room.
So we're marking the twenty years with you. Put the badge on your favourite shot of you training. No training photo? Any photo of you works, even a selfie. Then post it and tag the dojo. Old photo, new photo, first grading, last week's class. We want to see twenty years of faces.
Anniversary weekend: two-day seminar Sat 7 and Sun 8 November, with gradings on Saturday and a potluck dinner at the dojo Saturday night.
